Dear visitor!

My name is Irfan Choo Teck Kong and I live in Johor, Malaysia. I became interested in photography after my girlfriend (she is my wife now) encouraged me to pick up a camera. Nature and wildlife photography is my passion. I liked to take picture of animals, plants, landscape and people. However, as for me it’s better to concentrate one thing at a time rather than try to photography everything.

Most of the images presented here are birds. I have been photographing bird since I picked up my first SLR few years ago. I try to take every opportunity I can to get out and shoot. I do most of my local birding in reserve forest and wetland. I love being out there with my camera and I enjoy being out in areas with a lot of bird activity. I’m not fussed about exotic, rare, unusual species and I’m not about to catalogue every bird in Malaysia. I’m more focused on taking a good bird photo that please me and inspire others with their beauty that we ordinary don't see. I love my lens to capture the magical moment of their natural behavior.

I learned everything from reading magazines and books, through trial and error and a bit advice by photographers I have met. I didn’t have any formal training in photography but picked it up as I went along. The entire image on this website were taken using digital camera with my Nikon 500mm lens. I started using a Nikon D70 digital camera and haven’t used a single roll of film since two years ago. I have since upgrade to a Nikon D200.

Millions picture are taken everyday and I’m still trying to capture something special that has never seen before. It’s always been my dream that my photo to be published alongside well-known names and the image stays in people mind….
